MCSC offers weekly workshops on a wide variety of subjects. In addition to providing a networking platform among attendees, classes are designed to increase understanding of important and current business topics and trends. Workshops are open to the public.
Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Workshop

HUBZone Workshop
Presenter: Angela Watson, Golden State APEX Accelerator
The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones. It also gives preferential consideration to those businesses in full and open competition.
Joining the HUBZone program makes your business eligible to compete for the program’s set-aside contracts. HUBZone-certified businesses also get a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.
HUBZone-certified businesses can still compete for contract awards under other socio-economic programs they qualify for.
The HUBZone program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year.

SAM.gov Workshop

Learn how to register your business on the System for Award Management (www.SAM.gov) website, the federal government’s database.
Being registered in www.sam.gov is required to get a prime contract with the federal government.
You will learn "why" and "how" to register with SAM.gov.

Monterey WBC provides one-on-one no cost small business consulting. With an elite team of consultants with expertise in marketing, organizational development, finance, management, etc. Small business consulting is offered as an individual service, or supplementary to our entrepreneurial training courses. Consulting is available in English and Spanish.
Monterey WBC offers “Explore, Design, & Launch” - small business training program for startup entrepreneurs and existing small business owners. This course will equip you with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources needed to start and/or grow your business. The outcomes of these courses are a tangible business plan and fine-tuned business pitch. “Empezando” is our Spanish equivalent.
